Gales as experienced from the Attic Room, Dorset

Waves of wind wash the house
Settle the muscles that tighten the mind
Emptying anger that lingers amidst
The lumen of organs
Twisted in angst

Each individual leaf amongst
The herd of trees is
Twisted
And beaten in isolation
As nature
Thunders
To and fro, piles over the rooftops

And long-suffering vertebrae of ungulates
Amongst the black thickness of night.

The gusts bully puddles, grass blades, aerials
And dissipate as a baton passed along the isobars.

The sentiment of this weather
Runs its hands through my hair
Rubs the muscles that tightened my back
Blows the tired despair
That clings
To the wiring of my mind
Like heavy, wet clothing on a line
Blows it into next door's garden where
They
Can deal with it
Because it is not my washing.

Nature is cleansing the earth.

In absence of perpetuity

I imagine
Vibrant souls on a conveyor
But I can't imagine
Such bright stars burning out
Without earthly assurances
Of perpetuity

Sorrow dripping
Into open soil
To feed a new blossom
A chance to live again
Fed from the bottom of another world.

Conception and beyond

A self-arranged marriage
Genes entwined
Lingering saliva joined
Glycoproteins
An unstoppable flowering
Curled, uncurled
Pink transparency
Nature "neither knows
Nor cares"
Yet compels her creations
To be so passionate
That we are shocked by her insouciance

The Love of Shelter

The rolling waves of wind
Smash against the walls and glass
The water
Lost in turbulent tempest
Is thrown choicelessly
Across a landscape
Across a landscape of yawning shadows
And ignorant asphalt

Us in our bunker
Beneath the waves of wind
The firmness of the soil
And bricks interlaced
Defiantly oppose the wind's symphony
Gusting sheets that counterpoint
With howls and moans
And the whistler takes the top notes.

Moon

The moon's stark luminosity
Hung in the night
As a historical lantern
Cold
Sheltering among the sky's jewels
Falling in slow motion
Into the mouth of the earth.

Black and White

Her little black eyes
Entries to a Tardis
Of vast conciousness uncluttered
By nomenclature

Her soul a depth of infinite purity
A luke warm, shimmering pool
Reflecting the heavens

Exposed to everything
Yet seeing nothing

And yet here is the root of her clarity

And it brings me back to that day
Less than a year old
Surrounded by water
Dark, unknown shapes watching from below
Purity of emotion
As I swam behind my Mother
A soul beginning

Unborn Star

Silent unborn star
Universe unknown
Revolving in fluid
In the lightless limbo
Bodies revolve around
Gravity's traction
Your soul being assembled
From stardust, from the unknown reaches of nothingness,
From blinking eyes and cold lights
In vacuums in a world unseen.
Starlight provided the spark.
When consciousness breaks the glossy meniscus
The lights go on
And you shall see the place from where you came.
